Originally built in the 9th century, it has been significantly remodeled, especially in the 17th century. , visit the cemetery of St. Nino and the beautiful monastery. Visit Sighnaghi and enjoy the old town, its wonderful views, local museum and the winery. Alaverdi (Geo. ალავერდი) Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastery located 20 km from Telavi, in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia. Parts of the monastery date back to 6th century. The present day cathedral dates to the 11th century.
